Hi! I’m Toni Cook, a Grade 12 student at Hoërskool Dinamika and contestant on Maak My ʼn Miljoenêr – a business competition where the winner gets R50 000 plus free workshops teaching business growth. Contestants face elimination challenges called Die Brandbank.
At first, I thought it was a scam, but I entered with my clothing brand Toni Cook Clothing and made it through! I also run videography, graphic design, and candy businesses. On 3 May 2025, we had our first workshop at Akademia Centurion. I met amazing young entrepreneurs making R10 000–R30 000 a month, learned a ton about business, and launched my clothing and candy businesses the next day!
Die Brandbank was intense. Five judges grilled us on our businesses. I got three yes and two no answers but still advanced. One staff member even said I bring “spice” to the show!
The Challenges; a 10-day, all-expenses-paid trip from North West to the Western Cape, testing teamwork and business skills. We stayed at beautiful ATKV resorts (my favourite: Goudini Spa). We filmed daily, had incredible food, and built friendships I’ll treasure.
From Top 30, I made Top 20! To win the R50 000, I need massive growth, from my current R10 000 turnover to R200 000 by end of September. I’m running a competition: whoever gets me a big order (e.g., 30+ cups for events) gets entered to win R5000 if I win.
Finale: 14 October at Atterbury Theatre (tickets R300).
